Aoibhe Ni has produced a really interesting way of combining crochet and Tunisian crochet, turning things (literally) around and producing a really interesting visual texture.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_344\" style=\"width: 594px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tuesdayfortnite.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/IMG_1026.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-344\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-344\" title=\"Honeymeade Shawl\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tuesdayfortnite.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/IMG_1026-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"Honeymeade Shawl\" width=\"584\" height=\"388\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tuesdayfortnite.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/IMG_1026-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.tuesdayfortnite.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/IMG_1026-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.tuesdayfortnite.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/IMG_1026-450x300.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-344\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Detail of the Honeymeade &#8211; showing Crochet and Tunisian sections<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I&#8217;m still loving how the yarn is working up, and it feels so fabulous.\u00a0 the touch of stelina makes it sparkle (you can see it a bit in the photo towards the bottom right and top left).\u00a0 On the right you can see the &#8216;crochet&#8217; section &#8211; and on the left you can see the Tunisian section (split almost exactly in the middle of the photo)\u00a0 The method of increases results\u00a0 the beautiful pleating you can see in the top left &#8211; but that will mostly block out when the shawl is finished.<\/p>\n<p>I know I spoke about my hairpin tunic last week and how enthusiastic I was about it.\u00a0 Well, pride come before a fall and I quickly discovered that, despite what the label might claim (why do I trust those?) it is nowhere near an aran weight and while the pattern calls for 2 &#8216;stitches&#8217; to the inch, and I&#8217;m getting nearly 8!\u00a0 So I&#8217;ll have to buy some more yarn.\u00a0 boo hiss.\u00a0\u00a0 But I need your help, dear reader.<\/p>\n<p>The tunic is this one, from <em>Crochet So Fine<\/em> by Kristin Omdhal:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1413\/4728424325_0f6b287dec_z.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"526\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve found an appropriate yarn, <em>Delphine<\/em> by Louisa Harding, but I&#8217;m having a tough ole time deciding which colourway to go with..<\/p>\n<p>now, obviously this is more a summer tunic, so I&#8217;d like to go fairly summery &#8211; which means the charcoal is out.\u00a0 And I look really ill in pure white &#8211; so that&#8217;s the Ecru out.\u00a0 I&#8217;m also not a massive fan of the bright pinks, which removes the Watermelon from the equation.\u00a0 I know that I don&#8217;t own much lime green or orange, but when I do people complement the colour on me.\u00a0 I&#8217;m just not sure I can carry off such a large area of such a colour.\u00a0 At the moment I&#8217;m drawn towards the navy or coffee or the natural (as I can see those over pale summery colours) but I&#8217;d value your opinion&#8230; what do you think?<\/p>\n<p>Finally I&#8217;ve been back to the Consultant and have permission to start trying to come off the drugs over the next 5 weeks.\u00a0 Fingers crossed it&#8217;s worked and I can stop taking them and be wonderful and pain free from here on in!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>First up, I got another couple of repeats done on my Honeymeade shawl, completing the first set of charts and about to start the second.
